Pin Clamp

how do you care for a laptop?
Getting new laptop.Just want to know the basics on handling. Most of the time I use a laptop for just a desktop. Should I close it if it’s not being used? How should I carry it? My old laptop has screen issues and I have to pin clamps to the edges to get the screen to work. Never dropped it or abused it. Don’t know if I had something to do with it . Appreciate any input….thanks
Good idea to close it when you are not using it to protect the screen. Only wash the screen with a gently cloth and soap and water, Never use a window cleaner.
Purchase some compressed air in a can to blow out the vents under it from time to time to remove dust.
MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, DO NOT RUN COMPUTER IN A HOT ROOM. Computers need to be cool and heat shortens the life of one. I have gone to many cyber cafes and see people outside in the heat running their computers. They dont realize they are shorting the life of their laptops.
Another thing is I would go to a computer store and purchase a carry bag or case for it when you take it somewhere. Just to protect it.
New computers offer you the chance to make restore disc when you first turn them on. If it is new right out of the box, Make sure you have a few disc to make them and put them in a safe place. If it is not right out of the box, at lease make a back up recover disc for it. You may be glad you did if somthing happens.
Anyway, Most of all, Just have fun with it.
