How to wire a westinghouse AC Motor. Single phase, 1/6 hp, 110 volts. Three wire terminals, two marked line.?
In the wiring box, the top terminal is marked line, and has two wire coming from it. Middle terminal has one wire going to it and no markings. Bottom terminal has no wire connected and is marked line. How do I wire this motor to plug it in? It is just an electric shop motor.
The two that are marked line are the power input terminals.If they are not marked line1 and line2 then it should not matter which way the wires are connected.Normally there are other terminals for the third wire connector to be moved to for reversing the direction of the motor.As someone else stated there is almost always a wiring diagram sometimes it is inside of the cover,sometimes this diagram will be on a plate on the side of the motor.
