PLEASE HELP! I need help on how to open a stapler, and fast!?

I have a Swingline Optima PowerEase stapler that I can’t unhinge to kinda make it flat so I can staple stuff on walls. I know how to load the staples and what to do when it seems to be jammed, but I am really confused about this. I need to get an answer ASAP on how to ‘flatten’ it before time runs out that I can work on these walls!

try the underside…there should be an oval shaped silver button…push that in, and it should open.
